BOTOX is a great way to smoothen your skin and keep the youthful appearance that you love and boost your confidence.

BOTOX Is Safe, Effective. No Downtime, & Immediate Results.

BOTOX® is used to treat Focal Hyperhidrosis of the:

  • Underarms
  • Hands
  • Feet
  • Face
  • Scalp

There are two types of hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating), focal or generalized.

Focal hyperhidrosis involves one or more of the areas-underarms, hands, feet, face, and scalp.

Generalized hyperhidrosis, also known as secondary hyperhidrosis is actually caused by other underlying condition(s) such as endocrine disorders, menopause, obesity, nerve damage, and medications.

BOTOX® has been FDA approved for treatment of underarm (focal) hyperhidrosis.  Regardless of the area in the focal hyperhidrosis category, BOTOX® can be used to control excessive sweating.  The purified protein is injected in the desired area, causing an interruption of the signal of the nerve to the sweat glands.  The result is the elimination or diminishing of sweat production.  This treatment does not interfere with the body’s internal system for temperature regulation.

The procedure takes 10 to 15 minutes with results of muscle relaxation lasting up to 3-6 months.

Where Is BOTOX® Used?

BOTOX is effective for excessive sweating underarms, on the hands and soles of the feet, on the face and the scalp.

Am I a good candidate for BOTOX?

The best candidates are patients who have excessive and persistent sweating despite using deodorants, ammonium chloride formulations, or prescription medications such as Robinul or Diltiazem.

How is BOTOX® Administrated?

During treatment day, one should present with sweating in the area to be treated.  Betadine followed by corn starch powder is applied to the desired area.  The active site of sweating will turn purple. A small amount of medication is administered by a small needle into the targeted area, 1 cm apart.  The sensation is compared to a pin stick that resolves once the needle is removed.  Since no sedation or local anesthesia is necessary, one can resume regular activity immediately after treatment.

What You Can Expect

BOTOX can be used to treat skin imperfections like worry lines, laugh and smile lines, crow's feet, and forehead wrinkles, among others. Patients often see results as soon as a few days after the procedure, and these results can last from about 4 to 6 months.

When will I notice the difference and how long will it last?

Once treated, the affects may take three to seven days to become fully noticeable.  The results may last from 3-6 months.  Often, repeated treatments can lead to longer lasting results. Results vary among individuals and treated area.

What happens as treatment begins to wear off?

As BOTOX® begins to wear off one notice an increase noticeable sweating.  To maintain the affects, it requires three to four injections per year.  With repeated treatments, the effects of BOTOX® tend to last longer, thus requiring fewer injections.

Is there any downtime?

No. The majority of people return to work or normal activities immediately following treatment.
