A basic facial at Dermatology Associates PC consist of a double cleanse, exfoliation, extractions if needed and a mask. All products are chosen to target skin concerns and further skin health goals.

Who needs a Basic facial?

Everyone with an epidermis that wants healthy skin. All skin types, fitzpatricks and races.

What should be done to prepare for a Basic facial?

Discontinue use of all topical:

  • Vitamin A derived products such as, retinol, retin a, tretinoin, adapalene (differin gel), tazarotene, and bexarotene
  • Alpha Hydroxy Acids
  • Salicylic Acid
  • Benzoyl Peroxide

48 hours before your facial.

If you are taking isotretinoin, a prescription medication used to treat severe acne, you should wait 6 months after you stop taking it to try receiving a facial

What is the downtime after receiving a Basic facial?

There is really not any downtime after receiving a basic facial unless you have extractions performed. Skin may continue to appear blotchy and puffy in areas extractions were performed. Skin typically returns back to normal 2-24 hours post facial.

Is there any discomfort associated with receiving a Basic facial?

There is discomfort if receiving extractions during the treatment. Pressure and a pinching sensation is typically what is felt during extractions.

How often should a Basic facial be performed?

Basic facial are good to get every 2-4 weeks as a healthy skin regimen.
