What should be done to prepare for a Full facial?

Discontinue use of all topical Vitamin A derived products such as: retinol, retin a, tretinoin, adapalene (differin gel), tazarotene, and bexarotene 48 hours prior to your facial. Also discontinue using any topical AHA, Salicylic Acid or Benzoyl Peroxide products 48 hours prior to facial.

If you are taking isotretinoin, a prescription medication used to treat severe acne, you should wait 6 months after you stop taking it to try receiving a facial.

Is there any discomfort associated with receiving a Full facial?

There is discomfort if receiving extractions during the treatment. Pressure and a pinching sensation is typically what is felt during extractions.

What is the downtime after receiving a Full facial?

There is really not any downtime after receiving a Full facial unless you have extractions performed. Skin may continue to appear blotchy and puffy in areas extractions were performed. Skin typically returns back to normal 2-24 hours post facial.

What is the aftercare for a Full facial?

Taking care of your skin care is essential after receiving a facial. Be gentle with your skin for the next few days.

  • Avoid harsh cleaners, toners or exfoliants.
  • Apply soothing moisturizer and sunscreen daily.
  • Avoid direct sunlight.

There is not any downtime needed to let your skin heal. Experts recommend using a broad-spectrum sunscreen of at least SPF 30 and a moisturizer afterward. That’s because your skin may be more sensitive.

But it’s important to remember it won’t get rid of all acne scars or stop aging.
